A way to finish off carpet up to any surface. Stretch the carpet over the z bar with a knee kicker. A special tool called a z bar enables you to install lengths of carpet in doorways so that they fit perfectly. Place the spiked end of the kicker a few inches away from the bar on top of the carpet.

Tuck the extra edge of the carpet under the gap and use the hooks of the transition strip to hold it in place. The four foot z bar matches up perfectly with standard 4 foot tack strip. For use in doorways room entry ways or other locations where carpet meets tile flooring. If there s already a carpet there cut it just a few inches longer than where you want to meet the tile.

Then follow the same steps as above after you finish installing the tile. Apply gentle pressure as you hit the flat end of the kicker with your knee to push the carpet forward. The z bar is used in conjunction with the tack strip and should be installed directly over the z bar. Can be cut to desired length.
